How long have you worked for Childbase? 6 months.

Why did you decide on a career in
childcare? I’ve always loved the idea of working with children and being able to help give them the best start to life.

What do you enjoy most about your job? How loving the children are, they always make your day so much better. The team I work with are so friendly and are always willing to help whenever I need it – which makes my job so much nicer.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in childcare? Do it! It’s the best decision I have ever made – it’s worth any challenges that may occur as the children will become some of your best friends.

How long have you worked for Childbase? 4 years.

Why did you decide on a career in
childcare? I enjoy watching children grow and develop. I like to provide care for them in a stimulating environment, being part of their journey in nursery and making their time here full of fun.

What do you enjoy most about your job? Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces and the amazing team I work alongside.

Why do you enjoy working for Childbase? They care about their staff, what they stand for and their visions for the future to better the company.

Why did you decide on a career in
childcare? I love being around children and watching them grow and develop.

What do you enjoy most about your job? I like teaching the children new things and I love when parents let us know how
grateful they are for what we do.

Why do you enjoy working for Childbase? The children, parents and staff are all lovely and amazing.

Why did you decide on a career in childcare? The benefits that Childbase have to offer and that the company feels like a family.

What do you enjoy most about your job? The relationships you build with the children and staff members makes you feel so comfortable.

What is the hardest part of working with children? Ensuring that you keep a good balance between planning activities, supporting the children and completing observations on their development. 

What keeps you working in childcare? Always being happy coming into work.

How long have you worked for Childbase? 1 year.

Why did you decide on a career in childcare? There are many opportunities to work up to a higher level and take on extra training courses allowing you to take your career further.

What do you enjoy most about your job?The security I feel at Childbase, along with all of the extra opportunities.

What is the hardest part of working with children? Seeing children you have a bond with leave the nursery to go to school.

What keeps you working in childcare? The bond that you create with the children and other practitioners. I also feel very comfortable going into work and enjoy working with all of my colleagues.

How long have you worked for Childbase? 19 years.

Why did you decide on a career in childcare?  I have always been passionate about looking after and caring for children.

What do you enjoy most about your job? Children always manage to brighten your day.

What is the hardest part of working with children?  Saying goodbye to the children and families when it’s time for them to go off to big school.

What keeps you working in childcare?  I enjoy my job here at Nene Valley because I love coming in to see the children every day.

Team Leader, Devonshire Day Nursery

How long have you worked for Childbase? I have previously worked for Childbase for 5 years. I then went to another job and returned to Childbase 1 month ago.

Why did you decide on a career in childcare?  I wanted to support children with Special Educational Needs at an early stage to ensure they had the best start to their education. 

What do you enjoy most about your job? I enjoy the variety in my job – no day is ever the same.

What is the hardest part of working with children? I would have to say the hardest part of my job is the paperwork.

What keeps you working in childcare?  The children, they make me appreciate my job everyday.

Nursery Practitioner, Cedars Day Nursery

How long have you worked for Childbase?  I have worked at Childbase for 3 and a half years.

Why did you decide on a career in childcare? I decided on a career in childcare as I wanted an opportunity to learn more about Early Years Education and gain experience working with children of all different ages.

What do you enjoy most about your job?  One of the things I enjoy the most about
my job is watching the children I care for grow, develop and learn more every day – knowing that I contribute to this is really rewarding.

What keeps you working in childcare?  You form strong bonds with the children and families. Everybody works together as a team and we all really support and care for each other.

Why did you decide on a career in childcare? I knew I would enjoy helping children learn through play.
